Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Procedures

First-time patients can enjoy a free trial of our signature P+ Phyto treatment to experience our laser protocol.

The FastheticsTM system by NOVU ensures that treatments are speedy, effective and safe for all patients. As such, when you arrive at our clinic, you will be greeted by our consultant who will receive a brief background of the purpose of your visit, and provide you with a queue ticket to await your turn.

After consulting with the doctor and determining that you wish to proceed with treatment, you will be provided with prepping essentials which include a cleansing cloth. You may cleanse your skin in a dedicated prep area. After the treatment, you may nourish your skin with our special post-laser soothing cream and try our range of sunscreens to protect your complexion.

Most of our procedures involve minimal or no downtime. Please consult your NOVU doctor for more information on specific treatments.

If you have any of the following conditions, you may not be suitable for our laser treatments. Please inform our staff and doctor if you have any medical condition or had undergone any recent treatments, particularly:

  • Epilepsy or a history of fits/seizures in the past
  • History of previous aesthetic treatments that will result in a photodynamic reaction
  • Gold thread-lift treatments
  • Tattoo whitening
  • Internal defibrillator

Package members may download our app for updates on estimated waiting times at our clinics and walk in for P+ Phyto treatments. You may make an appointment for a first-time consultation or walk into our clinics.

All patients are required to wear eye goggles for their own protection. Direct exposure to a laser beam may cause eye damage. We have the right to refrain from performing treatment on you if you refuse to wear the safety eye goggles.

Every patient is different, and NOVU laser procedures are designed to involve minimal downtime. However, to ensure that your experience is beneficial and effective, here are some post-treatment pointers:

  • Apply sunscreen every day, especially after a laser procedure. You may like to pick a physical formulation that is created for sensitive skin.
  • Apply moisturisers and other skincare prescribed by your doctor to nourish and heal your skin.
  • Stop smoking and avoid polluted areas as such environmental aggressors may aggravate your skin.

  • Apply overly strong skincare products immediately after your treatment such as those containing Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid.
  • Tan yourself to avoid UV damage and aggravate your skin.
  • Get chemical peels or other harsh treatments.
